The rollercoaster ride for the previous eleven months. Pandemic aside, out of all of the responses to this, I liked Biden’s comments on this. “For so many, it feels like it took all of that for the judicial system to deliver just basic accountability,” President Biden said late yesterday. The system is broken, and has been forever, when it comes our black population. According to the Times, there have only been seven murder convictions of police officers since 2005. That number is stunningly, unacceptable. Especially with so many families still demanding justice for the same behavior that was used on George Floyd: Breonna Taylor, Daunte Wright, Marvin Scot, Vincent Belmonte, and on the list goes.

Thank goodness some good comes from his death, like the police reform bill in Congress at the moment. H.R.7120 – George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020. This is a step forward but will not fix everything.
