Here is my ‘word of the week’, to learn new words and give myself writing prompt opportunities. This week it is: ‘Asperse’.
Gilded Murders
Aspersed.
Spurned.
Cursed.
The bodies that burned,
Under hate.
Your residence for beautiful scribbles.
Pages with poetry, no fiction.
Here is my ‘word of the week’, to learn new words and give myself writing prompt opportunities. This week it is: ‘Asperse’.
Gilded Murders
Aspersed.
Spurned.
Cursed.
The bodies that burned,
Under hate.
This is my photo prompt for the week. I hope we both find some inspiration within it.
Sanctuary
My universe will always lay,
Centered beneath the moon,
In that quiet, unassuming way,
The sun has never mastered.
This is my photo prompt for the week. I hope we both find some inspiration within it.
A Deeper Bond Than Love
Every day, you dig deeper into my crevices,
You heal through all of my imperfections.
I read you my pile of heart felt choruses,
Together, we give each other balance.
I am your stars,
You are my sea.
We’ve laid bare our scars,
On the ultimate journey.
Here is my ‘word of the week’, to learn new words and give myself writing prompt opportunities. This week it is: ‘Brumous’.
Entrapment
The snow sticks to my eyebrows,
As the puffy flakes rain above me.
The mud freezes on the surrounding sloughs,
I hike to higher ground amongst the trees.
He traps us here within the brumous air,
Hoping our bodies are never found.
He is special kind of monster,
Teeth and bones glitter the ground.
It is him against me,
To the death.
This is my photo prompt for the week. I hope we both find some inspiration within it.
A Winter Day
The ice beneath us,
Pinches our skin.
Our hibernation is precious,
Or we never rise as Queens.
We must rage,
Against the dying light.
To find courage,
Within the blooming night.
Here is my ‘word of the week’, to learn new words and give myself writing prompt opportunities. This week it is: ‘Anaxiphilia’. I didn’t find this in the merriam dictionary but I did find it on the urban slang website. Therefore, I am counting this as a new word.
Wilted
I want to bleed at your feet,
Until you see the real me.
Anaxiphilia.
I want to dissect your defences,
Until you let me in.
Danger.
I want to carve out my heart,
Until you promise to take it with you.
Capture.
Here is my ‘word of the week’, to learn new words and give myself writing prompt opportunities. This week it is: ‘Henotic’.
December Fatigue
The rush of the season,
Digs under our crust.
Sometimes without reason,
We emerge under thick layers of dust.
Come January, we need to retract,
And reawaken our magic.
I’m reading my new book,
And adopting all things henotic.
This is my photo prompt for the week. I hope we both find some inspiration within it.
Blanketing
Snow bathes the hills,
Within its gentle clutch,
The early birds morning thrills,
Are largely shushed.
Winter has descended.
Here is my ‘word of the week’, to learn new words and give myself writing prompt opportunities. This week it is: ‘Pennon’.
Hunter
She stalks us from the shadows,
But her light steps trail behind us.
My sister grasped my wrist,
And hid us at the edge of the forest.
We were stuck mute,
As her huge black pennons,
Floated above us on her route.
They relaxed as she grew in distance.
Alive for another day.
This is my photo prompt for the week. I hope we both find some inspiration within it.
Northern lights
The auroral symphony plays overhead,
The chill has burrowed beneath my shell,
I am a fly caught in the spider’s thread,
The brilliance of a lifetime in its spell.
